But there are other reasons for\u00a0not using Print Screen for screenshots, too.\u00a0<span style=\"color: #69656e\">Here are a few alternative methods you can use instead.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"font-weight: bold;color: #432d2d;text-align: justify\">Remap Print Screen<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">There are certain tools you can use, such as KeyTweak and SharpKeys, to remap keys in Windows. In this case, you\u2019d remap some other button on your keyboard \u2014 like Power or Media Play \u2014 into Print Screen.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4120\" src=\"https:\/\/www.filepuma.com\/reviews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/bgyqj40458217baf05f6f346720406.png\" alt=\"windows-screenshot-key-remap\" width=\"563\" height=\"461\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">I personally wouldn\u2019t do this unless you\u2019re absolutely certain that\u00a0you\u2019ll never use the remapped key, and even then I\u2019d look to another method first. But if you want to learn more, check out our guide to remapping your keys.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"font-weight: bold;color: #432d2d;text-align: justify\">Use the Snipping Tool<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Windows comes with a built-in tool called the Snipping Tool. With it, you can snap quick screenshots of the entire screen, individual windows, or custom regions of the screen. It\u2019s actually quite useful, but many don\u2019t know about it.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4121\" src=\"https:\/\/www.filepuma.com\/reviews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/sSdqV40058217c1f476fe327761184.png\" alt=\"screenshots-windows-10-snipping-tool\" width=\"319\" height=\"117\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #69656e\">Open the Start Menu and search for \u201cSnipping Tool\u201d to launch it. Simple as that.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"font-weight: bold;color: #432d2d;text-align: justify\">Use a Third-Party Tool<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">This is my preferred alternative method. All you have to do is install a free screenshot tool \u2014 I\u2019m currently happy with Greenshot, but there are many others out there \u2014 and change its keyboard shortcut to whatever you want.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4122\" src=\"https:\/\/www.filepuma.com\/reviews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/KTAiI2258217c4d52c39728823889.png\" alt=\"windows-screenshot-third-party-tool\" width=\"453\" height=\"458\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #69656e;text-align: justify\">My current setup is inspired by OS X:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"color: #000000;text-align: justify\">\n<li style=\"color: #69656e\"><strong style=\"font-weight: bold\">Ctrl + Shift + 3<\/strong>\u00a0for a fullscreen screenshot.<\/li>\n<li style=\"color: #69656e\"><strong style=\"font-weight: bold\">Ctrl + Shift + 4<\/strong>\u00a0for a current window screenshot.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"color: #69656e;text-align: justify\">I have no Print Screen button but screenshots are easier than ever.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I don\u2019t have a Print Screen button on my keyboard, which means I can\u2019t take screenshots using the normal method \u2014 hitting Print Screen, pasting the image into Paint, and saving as a PNG.
