Much like the Windows Task Manager, you can use this window to see which tabs and extensions are using the most memory and close them to free up some space.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #69656e\">In Windows, just hit\u00a0<\/span><strong style=\"font-weight: bold;color: #69656e\">Shift + Esc<\/strong><span style=\"color: #69656e\">\u00a0to access the Task Manager; on a Mac, you\u2019ll need to open it from the\u00a0<\/span><strong style=\"font-weight: bold;color: #69656e\">Window<\/strong><span style=\"color: #69656e\">\u00a0menu.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4166\" src=\"https:\/\/www.filepuma.com\/reviews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/aGCqU4925850f923c5df5930517087.png\" alt=\"chrome-task-manager\" width=\"640\" height=\"407\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Once you\u2019ve gotten rid of the resource-heavy processes, there are a number of other things you can do. Enabling tab discarding, for example, will allow Chrome to get rid of tabs that you haven\u2019t used in a long time if memory is low.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4167\" src=\"https:\/\/www.filepuma.com\/reviews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/NBFiH955850f99e84715916603044.png\" alt=\"tab-discarding\" width=\"640\" height=\"361\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">You can also disable extensions that are using a lot of power, or add a few extensions that will help you manage the amount of resources that Chrome is using.
