How to get the “Start” button back to Windows 7 and Windows 8?

In the newer versions of Windows 7 and Windows 8, the desktop screen does not have the old-time favorite “Start” button. For those who liked the “start’ button in the bottom left corner, there is a way to get it back.
Here is how to get back the “Start” button in Windows 7 and Windows 8:

Step One. Right-click on the long task bar:

Step Two. Select “Toolbars” from the menu:

Step Three. Select “New toolbar…”:

Step Four. In the text space, type “%appdata%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch”:

Step Five. Press “Enter” and then click “select Folder”:

Your “Quick Launch” – the equivalent of the old start button – is immediately added to your desktop taskbar!
